Cosmetology License Renewal
10-Hour Cosmetology Continuing Education (License Renewal) Online
All Florida cosmetologists or registered specialists are required to complete continuing education which covers at least:
- One hour of training on HIV/AIDS & other communicable diseases.
- Three hours of training on sanitation and sterilization.
- 30 minutes of training on Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
- 30 minutes of training on issues of workers' compensation related to Florida law.
- Two hours of training on state and federal laws and rules related to cosmetologists, cosmetology, salons, specialists, specialty salons, and booth renters; specifically including but not limited to Chapter 477, F.S., and the Rules of the Board.
- One hour of training on chemical makeup related to hair, skin and nails.
- One hour of training on environmental issues.
- One hour of Continuing Education training that provides additional instruction in any of the courses approved by the State of Florida for the purpose of Continuing Education.
2-Hour HIV/AIDS Continuing Education Barbers License Renewal
All Barbers, Restricted Barbers and Barber's Assistants in the state of Florida must complete a 2-hour approved HIV/AIDS course to renew their license. This course has been approved by the Florida Barbers Board and will satisfy your continuing education requirement. The course and all materials are 100% online and you will be automatically reported to the state of Florida upon completion.
Course topics include:
- Modes of transmission of HIV/AIDS
- Communicable diseases
- Infection control procedures
- Prevention of HIV, AIDS, and communicable diseases
- Appropriate attitudes dealing with clients who may have HIV, AIDS, or a communicable disease.
- At the end of the 2-hour course, there will be a 20-question final exam that covers the information you have learned.
- Students have an unlimited amount of attempts to pass.
